Document Categories and Statuses Are Labels, Not Files
DOCCATG / DOCSTAT label documents; not the file

What a planner means
Document categories and document statuses are enterprise lists you hang on a work product or document. Oracle: a category can mark a document as a project standard or a deliverable; a status can mark it in review or completed.
They are not the file, not a notebook, and not schedule logic. Changing a category does not move dates. Deliverable on the document (DOCUMENT.deliv_flag) and work-product on the assignment (TASKDOC.wp_flag) are flags, not these lists. See Documents and Work Products Are Files, Not Notebooks.
Both lists are flat. DOCCATG and DOCSTAT have no parent column.
EPPM XML import can include Document Categories and Document Statuses as extra options vs Professional XML. That is an import-option difference, not a different object.

Microsoft Project
MSP tasks can have hyperlinks and notes. There is no document-category or document-status dictionary. Do not map DOCCATG to a task note or to a hyperlink.
Don't
- Treat a category or status as the document file or as a notebook.
- Treat category as
deliv_flagorwp_flag. - Invent a parent on DOCCATG or DOCSTAT.
- Map DOCCATG to an MSP hyperlink or note.
