P6 View > Collapse to (WBS Level)
View > Collapse To; project node = level 1; depth not code dots

Command name
Oracle P6 Professional: View > Collapse To. Opens the Collapse To dialog. Also on the Display toolbar and the right-click menu. Related: View > Expand All, View > Collapse All.
Oracle: use it "to select the grouping band you want to collapse or expand to in the current layout. The selection available in the list is based on the grouping bands displayed in the current layout."
If the Activities layout is grouped by WBS, Ten Six shows the list as WBS Level 2 (etc.). Do not label this Outline Level — that is Microsoft Project.
What is level 1?
The project node. PROJWBS.proj_node_flag (Oracle label: Project Node) is the P6 project name/ID WBS row. P6 has no WBS level 0. First children under the project are level 2.
Microsoft Project can show a Project Summary Task as outline level 0. Do not copy that numbering into a P6 viewer.
Collapse to level 2 — what do you see?
WBS grouping bands through level 2. Those level-2 bands are collapsed, so activities under them are hidden in the table. This is a WBS/summary view, not an activity list.
Gantt bars for hidden activities can still draw on the parent band if Bars > Grouping Band Settings > Show bar when collapsed is on (Ten Six). That is a bar setting, not extra table rows.
Unverified: if an activity is assigned directly to a level-1 WBS (not a leaf), it is a child of the expanded L1 band and may remain visible when collapsed to 2. Well-built jobs hang activities on leaf WBS, so collapse-to-2 is WBS rows only.
Depth, not code segments
Count parent_wbs_id depth from the project node (that node = 1). Do not parse a displayed code like 1.2.3 as the level.
wbs_short_name is the segment only. The full path is rebuilt from the parent chain plus the separator. Codes can be WP1 or CIV and still be level 2.
Live file
XER 23-10-CE-LIVE: 2741 TASK rows under PROJWBS. Collapse-to-N is a view of those WBS nodes, not a filter that deletes activities.
