Filter Activities According to the Resource Usage Profile

Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile is Display Activities for Selected: Resource or Time Period

P6 Resources tab. Assignment columns and Add Resource / Add Role.
This is the Resources tab. Filter activities from the Resource Usage Profile is a histogram action, not this tab.

What a planner means

Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile is Oracle Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile. When viewing the Resource Usage Profile for a specific project, you can filter the Activity Table, Gantt Chart, Activity Usage Spreadsheet, or Activity Network to the resource information in the profile. Left pane of the bottom layout: select the resource. Display Activities for Selected: mark Resource (activities assigned to that resource) or mark Time Period and click a timeperiod in the profile (assignments in that period). It is a how-to. It is not stored as its own table. It does not create, edit, or delete a relationship. It is not the Resource Usage Profile object note, not Display the Resource Usage Profile, not View a profile of resource allocation for a specific project, not an activity filter (View, Filter), not TASKPRED, not EPPM copied onto Professional, and not Microsoft Resource Graph filtering.

Oracle does print a how-to titled Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile. Oracle does not print a menu item named Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile. The path that how-to prints is Display Activities for Selected in the left pane. Do not invent View > Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile.

Oracle Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile (Professional):

  • "When viewing the Resource Usage Profile for a specific project, you can filter the activities displayed in the Activity Table, Gantt Chart, Activity Usage Spreadsheet, or Activity Network, so that they correspond to the resource information currently displayed in the profile."
  • "To display only the activities to which a specific resource has been assigned within an individual timeperiod, in the left pane of the bottom layout select the resource, then, in the Display Activities for Selected section, mark the Time Period checkbox. In the Resource Usage Profile, click the timeperiod for which you want to display the resource's activity assignments."
  • Note: "When you mark the Time Period checkbox, the currently selected timeperiod highlights and the cursor changes to a crosshair when you position it within the Resource Usage profile. When you select a timeperiod, it is highlighted and the activities in the Activity Table, Gantt Chart, or Activity Network are filtered to correspond to the timeperiod."
  • "To display only the activities to which a specific resource has been assigned, in the left pane of the bottom layout select the resource, then, in the Display Activities for Selected section, mark the Resource checkbox."

That how-to fetched prints no OK, no Apply, no Save, no Yes, no View, Filter By, and no Show All Projects step. Do not invent those on this how-to.

The Resource Usage Profile is a different object note. Leave Resource Usage Profile as the object.

View a profile of resource allocation for a specific project is a different how-to. This page assumes that view. See View a Profile of Resource Allocation for a Specific Project.

Activity filters (View, Filters) are a different how-to. Do not collapse Display Activities for Selected onto the activity filter dialog.

Professional vs EPPM

Professional — left pane Display Activities for Selected: Resource or Time Period (Time Period: click a period; cursor is a crosshair). Specific project view. No OK / Apply on this how-to page.

EPPM web — the Professional how-to page is the source for this note. Do not invent an EPPM Display Activities for Selected control. Do not copy Professional left-pane checkboxes onto EPPM.

Primavera Cloud is a different product. Do not copy it here.

XER

The how-to is not an XER table. Oracle’s project XER map TOC has no RSRUSAGE / DISPLAYACTS table. Do not invent a view %T. Display Activities for Selected does not write TASK. Layouts travel as .plf. A Viewer cannot reconstruct that the planner used this how-to.

Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project can filter a Resource Graph or task list. Do not map that as P6 Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile. Do not claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.

Don't

  • Invent View > Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile, OK, Apply, Save, Yes, or View, Filter By on this how-to.
  • Collapse this onto the Resource Usage Profile object, Display, specific-project view, or the activity filter dialog.
  • Copy Professional Display Activities for Selected onto EPPM.
  • Invent a DISPLAYACTS XER table, or reconstruct the how-to from TASKRSRC.
  • Map MSP Resource Graph or task filter as this how-to.
  • Claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.
