Filter Activities According to the Resource Usage Spreadsheet

Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Spreadsheet is Display Activities for Selected: Resource or Assignments

P6 Resources tab. Assignment columns and Add Resource / Add Role.
This is the Resources tab. Filter activities from the Resource Usage Spreadsheet is a grid action, not this tab.

What a planner means

Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Spreadsheet is Oracle Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Spreadsheet. When viewing the Resource Usage Spreadsheet for a specific project, you can filter the Activity Table, Gantt Chart, Activity Usage Spreadsheet, or Activity Network to the resource information in the spreadsheet. Left pane: select the resource. Display Activities for Selected: mark Resource (activities assigned to that resource), or select one or more of that resource's activity assignments in the middle pane and mark Assignments. It is a how-to. It is not stored as its own table. It does not create, edit, or delete a relationship. It is not the Resource Usage Spreadsheet object note, not Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile, not View a spreadsheet of resource allocation for a specific project, not an activity filter (View, Filter), not TASKPRED, not EPPM copied onto Professional, and not Microsoft Resource Usage filtering.

Oracle does print a how-to titled Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Spreadsheet. Oracle does not print a menu item named Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Spreadsheet. The path that how-to prints is Display Activities for Selected in the left pane. Do not invent View > Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Spreadsheet.

Oracle Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Spreadsheet (Professional):

  • "When viewing the Resource Usage Spreadsheet for a specific project, you can filter the activities displayed in the Activity Table, Gantt Chart, Activity Usage Spreadsheet, or Activity Network, so that they correspond to the resource information currently displayed in the Resource Usage Spreadsheet."
  • "To display only the activities to which a specific resource has been assigned, in the left pane of the bottom layout select the resource, then, in the Display Activities for Selected section, mark the Resource checkbox."
  • "To display specific activities for a resource, in the left pane of the bottom layout select the resource, then, in the middle pane of the bottom layout, select one or more of the resource's activity assignments. In the Display Activities for Selected section, mark the Assignments checkbox."

That how-to fetched prints no OK, no Apply, no Save, no Yes, no Time Period, and no View, Filter By. Do not invent those on this how-to.

The Resource Usage Spreadsheet is a different object note. Leave Resource Usage Spreadsheet as the object.

Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile is a different how-to. That page is Resource or Time Period. Do not collapse this onto that note. See Filter Activities According to the Resource Usage Profile.

View a spreadsheet of resource allocation for a specific project is a different how-to. This page assumes that view. See View a Spreadsheet of Resource Allocation for a Specific Project.

Activity filters (View, Filters) are a different how-to. Do not collapse Display Activities for Selected onto the activity filter dialog.

Professional vs EPPM

Professional — left pane Display Activities for Selected: Resource or Assignments (Assignments: pick rows in the middle pane). Specific project view. No OK / Apply on this how-to page.

EPPM web — the Professional how-to page is the source for this note. Do not invent an EPPM Display Activities for Selected control. Do not copy Professional Resource / Assignments checkboxes onto EPPM.

Primavera Cloud is a different product. Do not copy it here.

XER

The how-to is not an XER table. Oracle’s project XER map TOC has no RESOURCEUSAGE / DISPLAYACTS table. Do not invent a view %T. Display Activities for Selected does not write TASK. Layouts travel as .plf. A Viewer cannot reconstruct that the planner used this how-to.

Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project can filter Resource Usage or the task list. Do not map that as P6 Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Spreadsheet. Do not claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.

Don't

  • Invent View > Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Spreadsheet, OK, Apply, Save, Yes, Time Period, or View, Filter By on this how-to.
  • Collapse this onto Filter activities according to the Resource Usage Profile, the Resource Usage Spreadsheet object, or the activity filter dialog.
  • Copy Professional Display Activities for Selected onto EPPM.
  • Invent a DISPLAYACTS XER table, or reconstruct the how-to from TASKRSRC.
  • Map MSP Resource Usage or task filter as this how-to.
  • Claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.
