Oracle does print a how-to titled Add a bar to the Gantt Chart. Oracle does not print a menu item named Add a bar to the Gantt Chart. The menu that how-to prints is View, Bars. Do not invent View > Add a bar.

Oracle Add a bar to the Gantt Chart (Professional):

• "To preview your changes, click Apply."
• "To restore the default bar settings, click Default."
• "Choose View, Bars. You can also click the Layout Options bar and choose Bars."
• "Click Add."
• "Mark the Display checkbox next to the new bar."
• "Type a name for the new bar."
• "In the Timescale column, select the timescale you want the new Gantt Chart bar to represent."
• "In the Filter column, choose the filter you want to attach to the bar. Filters determine which activities the bar represents."
• "Click the Bar Style tab and configure the new bar's style. The Preview column shows you what the configured bar will look like in the Gantt Chart."
• "Click the Bar Settings tab and select grouping and necking options."
• "Click the Bar Labels tab and specify the new bar's label and position."

That how-to fetched prints no OK, no Save, no Yes, no Bar Type list, no Add menu, and no Click Gantt View. Do not invent those on this how-to.

Professional vs EPPM

Professional — View, Bars / Layout Options bar → Bars; Add; Display; name; Timescale; Filter; Bar Style / Bar Settings / Bar Labels; Apply; Default. No Save on that page.

EPPM web — Oracle Configuring Activity View Gantt Chart Bars: "Click the Add menu and select Bar or Label to add a new bar or label." Bar Type, Height, Bar Color, User Defined Start Date Field / Finish Date Field; Apply. That page fetched does not print View, Bars, Display checkbox, Timescale column, Filter column, Bar Settings, or Default. Do not copy Professional View, Bars / Filter column onto EPPM. Do not copy EPPM Add menu / Bar Type / Apply-only onto Professional as if they were the same how-to.

XER

The how-to is not an XER table. Oracle’s project XER map TOC has no GANTTBAR / ADDBAR / BARSTYLE / LAYOUTBAR table. Do not invent a view %T. Adding a bar definition does not write TASK. Layouts travel as .plf. A Viewer cannot reconstruct that the planner used this how-to.

Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project can format or add Gantt bar styles. Do not map that as P6 Add a bar to the Gantt Chart. Do not claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.
