Position a Bar in the Gantt Chart

What a planner means

Position a bar in the Gantt Chart is Oracle Position a bar in the Gantt Chart. View, Bars; or Layout Options bar → Bars. Select the bar. Bar Style tab. In Options, specify a row. OK, or Apply to view without closing. It is a how-to. It is not stored as its own table. It does not create, edit, or delete a relationship. Oracle does print a how-to titled Position a bar in the Gantt Chart. Oracle does not print a menu item named Position a bar in the Gantt Chart. The menu that how-to prints is View, Bars. Do not invent View > Position a bar.

Oracle Position a bar in the Gantt Chart (Professional):

• "Choose View, Bars. You can also click the Layout Options bar and choose Bars."
• "Select the Gantt Chart bar for which you want to specify a position."
• "Click the Bar Style tab."
• "In the Options section, specify a row."
• "Bars are drawn on the Gantt Chart according to their position in the Bars dialog box. Rows indicate where bars should be drawn: bars can be drawn stacked one above another, or occupying the same row so that only some of the bars are visible."
• "Click OK. To view your changes without closing this dialog box, click Apply."

Tip: "When displaying the Gantt chart, you can increase the space between the bars by adjusting the height of rows in the Activity Table."

That how-to fetched prints no drag, no Save, no Default, no Add, no Height list, no Timescale column, no Filter column, and no Change an activity's start and finish dates. Do not invent those on this how-to.

Professional vs EPPM

Professional — View, Bars / Layout Options bar → Bars; Bar Style; Options row; OK or Apply. No Save on that page.

EPPM web — Oracle Configuring Activity View Gantt Chart Bars prints a Height list for a bar. That page fetched does not print Options section, specify a row, stacked one above another, or occupying the same row. Do not copy Professional Options row onto EPPM Height. Do not copy EPPM Height onto Professional.

XER

The how-to is not an XER table. Oracle’s project XER map TOC has no BARROW / BARPOSITION / GANTTROW / LAYOUTBAR table. Do not invent a view %T. Changing a bar's drawing row does not write TASK. Layouts travel as .plf. A Viewer cannot reconstruct that the planner used this how-to.

Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project can stack or overlay Gantt bar styles. Do not map that as P6 Position a bar in the Gantt Chart. Do not claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.
