Publish Tracking Layouts
Publish tracking layouts is Tools, Publish, Tracking Layouts

What a planner means
Publish tracking layouts is Oracle Publish tracking layouts. Open the project. Tools, Publish, Tracking Layouts. Select the layouts. Click Select. Specify a location and type a filename (with no extension). Click Open. It is a how-to. It is not stored as its own table. It does not create, edit, or delete a relationship. It is not the Tracking object note, not Open a tracking layout, not Save a tracking layout, not Export a tracking layout, not Import a tracking layout, not Share a layout with other users, not Types of tracking layouts, not Activities Show on Bottom, not EPPM copied onto Professional, and not Microsoft Project publish.
Oracle does print a how-to titled Publish tracking layouts. Oracle does not print a menu item named Publish tracking layouts as a View command. The path that how-to prints is Tools, Publish, Tracking Layouts. Do not invent View > Publish tracking layouts.
Oracle Publish tracking layouts (Professional):
- "Open the project you want to publish."
- "Choose Tools, Publish, Tracking Layouts."
- "Select the layouts you want to publish."
- "Click the Select button."
- "Specify a location for the new files and type a filename (with no extension)."
- "Click Open."
That how-to fetched prints Select and Open. It does not print OK, Apply, Cancel, Save, or Yes. It prints no file-dialog title, no extension, and no Web site. Do not invent those on this how-to. Oracle printed with no extension. Do not invent .plf, .html, or another suffix on this page. Export prints Primavera Layout File (. PLF). That is a different how-to.
The Tracking window is a different object note. Leave Tracking as the object.
Share a layout with other users is a different how-to. That catalog says “Publish the layout to a Web site.” This page does not print Web site. Do not invent Web site on this how-to. See Share a Layout With Other Users.
Export a tracking layout is a different how-to. View, Layout, Open, then Export, then Save as . PLF. Do not collapse Publish onto Export. See Export a Tracking Layout Writes a Primavera Layout File (.plf).
Open a tracking layout is a different how-to. View, Layout, Open, then OK. This Open is the file Open after Select. Do not collapse them. See Open a Tracking Layout.
Professional vs EPPM
Professional — open the project; Tools, Publish, Tracking Layouts; select the layouts; Select; location; filename with no extension; Open.
EPPM web — the Professional how-to page is the source for this note. Do not invent an EPPM Publish tracking layouts dialog. Do not copy Professional Tools, Publish, Tracking Layouts onto EPPM.
Primavera Cloud is a different product. Do not copy it here.
XER
The how-to is not an XER table. Oracle’s project XER map TOC has no TRACKING / TRACK / LAYOUT / PUBLISH table. Do not invent a view %T. Publishing tracking layouts does not write TASK. Layouts travel as .plf; this page does not print that extension. PROJISSU.track_view_id and PROJTHRS.track_view_id are labeled Tracking Layout — a pointer on the issue/threshold, not the layout definition. A Viewer cannot reconstruct that the planner used this how-to.
Microsoft Project
Microsoft Project can publish or share a view. Do not map that as P6 Publish tracking layouts. Do not claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.
Don't
- Invent View > Publish tracking layouts, OK, Apply, Cancel, Save, Yes, a file-dialog title, a Web site, or an extension on this how-to.
- Collapse this onto the Tracking object, Open a tracking layout, Save a tracking layout, Export a tracking layout, Import a tracking layout, or Share a layout with other users.
- Copy Professional Tools, Publish, Tracking Layouts onto EPPM.
- Invent a TRACKING / LAYOUT / PUBLISH XER table, or reconstruct the how-to from TASK or track_view_id.
- Map MSP publish as this how-to.
- Claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.
