Share a Layout With Other Users
Share a layout with other users is All Users, Another User, export, or publish

What a planner means
Share a layout with other users is Oracle Share a layout with other users. Four ways printed: create available to All Users (Tracking only); save an existing layout under a different name as All Users or Another User; export the layout to a file and Email the file or its location; publish the layout to a Web site. It is a how-to. It is not stored as its own table. It does not create, edit, or delete a relationship. It is not the Tracking object note, not Open a tracking layout, not Save a tracking layout, not Export a tracking layout, not Publish tracking layouts, not Activities Show on Bottom, not EPPM copied onto Professional, and not Microsoft Project share.
Oracle does print a how-to titled Share a layout with other users. Oracle does not print a menu item named Share a layout with other users. This page prints no menu path. Do not invent View > Share a layout with other users.
Oracle Share a layout with other users (Professional):
- "You can share a layout with other users several different ways:"
- "When you first create the layout (Tracking only), specify that it be available to All Users."
- "Save an existing layout using a different name and then specify that it be available to All Users or Another User."
- "If you specify Another User, select a specific user."
- "Export the layout to a file and then Email the file or its location to other users."
- "Publish the layout to a Web site."
That how-to fetched prints All Users and Another User. It does not print Current User. The object note quotes Current User / All Users from the Create a tracking layout page. Quote both. Do not invent Current User on this how-to.
That how-to fetched prints no OK, Apply, Cancel, Save, or Yes. It prints no Save As dialog title, no file extension, and no Publish menu path. Do not invent those on this how-to. The object note already quotes .PLF export and Tools, Publish, Tracking Layouts from other pages. See Tracking.
The first-create All Users sentence is printed as (Tracking only). Do not invent that Activities layouts use that same first-create All Users rule.
The Tracking window is a different object note. Leave Tracking as the object.
Open a tracking layout is a different how-to. View, Layout, Open. Do not collapse share onto Open. See Open a Tracking Layout.
Save a tracking layout, Export a tracking layout, and Publish tracking layouts are different how-tos. Do not collapse this catalog onto those pages.
Professional vs EPPM
Professional — All Users on first create (Tracking only); save existing as All Users or Another User; export then Email; or publish to a Web site.
EPPM web — the Professional how-to page is the source for this note. Do not invent an EPPM Share a layout dialog. Do not copy Professional All Users / Another User onto EPPM.
Primavera Cloud is a different product. Do not copy it here.
XER
The how-to is not an XER table. Oracle’s project XER map TOC has no TRACKING / LAYOUT / SHARE table. Do not invent a view %T. Sharing a layout does not write TASK. Layouts travel as .plf. PROJISSU.track_view_id and PROJTHRS.track_view_id are labeled Tracking Layout — a pointer on the issue/threshold, not the layout definition. A Viewer cannot reconstruct that the planner used this how-to.
Microsoft Project
Microsoft Project can share a view. Do not map that as P6 Share a layout with other users. Do not claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.
Don't
- Invent View > Share a layout with other users, Current User, OK, Apply, Cancel, Save, Yes, a Save As dialog title, a file extension, or a Publish menu path on this how-to.
- Collapse this onto the Tracking object, Open a tracking layout, Save a tracking layout, Export a tracking layout, or Publish tracking layouts.
- Copy the Tracking-only first-create All Users rule onto Activities layouts.
- Copy Professional All Users / Another User onto EPPM.
- Invent a TRACKING / LAYOUT / SHARE XER table, or reconstruct the how-to from TASK or track_view_id.
- Map MSP share as this how-to.
- Claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.
