Delete a Bar from the Gantt Chart
Delete a bar from the Gantt Chart is View, Bars; select the bar; Delete

What a planner means
Delete a bar from the Gantt Chart is Oracle Delete a bar from the Gantt Chart (and Oracle Delete a bar from a Gantt Chart). View, Bars. Select the bar. Delete. Tip: clear Display to hide the bar without deleting it. The two titles do not print the same open path. The Gantt Chart TOC page also prints Layout Options bar → Bars. The Working-with sibling prints Display the Gantt Chart, then choose View, Bars and does not print Layout Options bar. It is a how-to. It is not stored as its own table. It does not create, edit, or delete a relationship. It does not delete an activity. It is not Add a bar to the Gantt Chart, not Change a bar in the Gantt Chart, not Position a bar in the Gantt Chart, not Specify Gantt Chart bar data and display options, not the Gantt bars object, not Delete an activity, not Dissolve an activity, not TASKPRED, not EPPM Configuring Activity View Gantt Chart Bars delete icon copied onto Professional, and not Microsoft Format Bar / delete bar style.
Oracle does print how-tos titled Delete a bar from the Gantt Chart and Delete a bar from a Gantt Chart. Oracle does not print a menu item named Delete a bar from the Gantt Chart. The menu those how-tos print is View, Bars. Do not invent View > Delete a bar.
Oracle Delete a bar from the Gantt Chart (Professional):
- "Choose View, Bars. You can also click the Layout Options bar and choose Bars."
- "Select the Gantt Chart bar that you want to delete."
- "Click Delete."
- Tip: "To remove the Gantt Chart bar from the Gantt Chart display without deleting it, you can clear the Display checkbox."
That page fetched prints no OK, no Apply, no Save, no Yes, no confirmation dialog, and no View, Top Layout Options, Bars. Do not invent those on that page.
Oracle Delete a bar from a Gantt Chart (Professional, Working with the Gantt Chart):
- "Display the Gantt Chart, then choose View, Bars."
- "Select the bar."
- "Click Delete."
- Tip: "To remove the bar from the Gantt Chart display without deleting it, clear the Display checkbox."
That page fetched prints no Layout Options bar, no OK, no Apply, no Save, and no Yes. Do not invent those on that page. Do not collapse the two titles.
Specify Gantt Chart bar data and display options is a different how-to. View, Top Layout Options, Bars; Add / clear Display / Delete as one step among Timescale, Filter, style tabs; Apply; OK. Do not copy that menu or OK onto these Delete pages.
Add a bar to the Gantt Chart is a different how-to. See Add a Bar to the Gantt Chart.
Change a bar in the Gantt Chart is a different how-to. Display / Name / Timescale / Filter / style tabs. Clearing Display is hide, not this Delete. See Change a Bar in the Gantt Chart.
Gantt bars is a different object note. The Bars dialog as layout settings. See Gantt Bars Are Layout Bar Definitions, Not an XER Table.
Delete an activity is a different how-to. This deletes a bar definition from the layout, not a TASK row.
Professional vs EPPM
Professional — two open paths, do not mix them. Gantt Chart TOC: View, Bars / Layout Options bar → Bars; select; Delete; or clear Display. Working-with sibling: display the Gantt Chart; View, Bars; select; Delete; or clear Display. No OK / Apply / Save / Yes on those pages.
EPPM web — Oracle Configuring Activity View Gantt Chart Bars: "Select a bar or label and click [delete] to delete it." That page fetched does not print View, Bars, Layout Options bar, or a Display checkbox. Do not copy Professional View, Bars / Display checkbox onto EPPM. Do not copy EPPM Customize View delete icon onto Professional.
Primavera Cloud is a different product. Do not copy it here.
XER
The how-to is not an XER table. Oracle’s project XER map TOC has no DELETEBAR / GANTTBAR / LAYOUTBAR table. Do not invent a view %T. Deleting a bar definition does not write TASK. Layouts travel as .plf. A Viewer cannot reconstruct that the planner used this how-to.
Microsoft Project
Microsoft Project can delete a Gantt bar style. Do not map that as P6 Delete a bar from the Gantt Chart. Do not claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.
Don't
- Invent View > Delete a bar, or invent OK / Apply / Save / Yes / a confirmation dialog on these how-tos.
- Copy Layout Options bar onto the Working-with sibling, or Display the Gantt Chart then View, Bars onto the TOC page as if they were the same sentence.
- Collapse this onto Add a bar, Change a bar, Specify Gantt Chart bar data, Delete an activity, or the Gantt bars object.
- Treat clear Display as the same as Delete.
- Copy EPPM Customize View delete icon onto Professional, or Professional Display checkbox onto EPPM.
- Invent a DELETEBAR XER table, or reconstruct the how-to from TASK dates.
- Map MSP delete bar style as this how-to.
- Claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.
