Show or Hide Resource Availability in the Resource Usage Profile

Show or hide resource availability in the Resource Usage Profile is Data tab; Show Available Units

P6 Resources tab. Assignment columns and Add Resource / Add Role.
This is the Resources tab. Show availability on the Resource Usage Profile is a histogram option, not this tab.

What a planner means

Show or hide resource availability in the Resource Usage Profile is Oracle Show or hide resource availability in the Resource Usage Profile. View, Show on Bottom, Resource Usage Profile (or Layout Options bar). Right pane Display Options bar → Show All Projects. Display Options bar → Resource Usage Profile Options (or right-click). Data tab. Additional Data Options: mark or clear Show Available Units. It is a how-to. It is not stored as its own table. It does not create, edit, or delete a relationship. It is not the Resource Usage Profile object note, not Show or hide resource limits, not Show or hide resource overallocation, not Define the Resource Usage Profile - Regular Histogram, not TASKPRED, not EPPM copied onto Professional, and not Microsoft Resource Graph remaining availability.

Oracle does print a how-to titled Show or hide resource availability in the Resource Usage Profile. Oracle does not print a menu item named Show or hide resource availability. The path that how-to prints is Show All Projects, then Resource Usage Profile Options, Data tab. Do not invent View > Show or hide resource availability.

Oracle Show or hide resource availability in the Resource Usage Profile (Professional):

  • "Click the Data tab."
  • "In the Additional Data Options section, mark or clear the Show Available Units checkbox."
  • "In the Activities window, choose View, Show on Bottom, Resource Usage Profile."
  • "You can also click the Layout Options bar, then choose Show on Bottom, Resource Usage Profile."
  • "In the right pane of the bottom layout window, click the Display Options bar, then choose Show All Projects. A check next to Show All Projects indicates that it is selected."
  • "Click the Display Options bar again and choose Resource Usage Profile Options."
  • "You can also right-click in the profile and choose Resource Usage Profile Options."
  • "The Show Available Units checkbox appears only when you view resource allocation for all projects across the enterprise, that is, when Show All Projects is selected. However, to show resource availability only for open projects, you can edit your user preferences. In the Resource Usage/Role Profile Options dialog box, click Preferences, then click the Resource Analysis tab. In the All Projects section, choose Opened Projects Only."
  • "Bars and cumulative curves with negative values do not display in the profile. You can view the negative values in the profile details. Double-click on the profile to view the profile details."

That how-to fetched prints no OK, no Apply, no Save, and no Yes. Do not invent those. Oracle prints Resource Usage Profile Options in the steps and Resource Usage/Role Profile Options in the note (same page). Do not pick one as the only real dialog name.

The Resource Usage Profile is a different object note. Leave Resource Usage Profile as the object.

View a profile of resource allocation across all projects is a different how-to. Show All Projects. See View a Profile of Resource Allocation Across All Projects.

Define the Resource Usage Profile - Regular Histogram is a different how-to. It also names Show Available Units. Do not collapse this onto Regular. See Define the Resource Usage Profile - Regular Histogram.

Professional vs EPPM

Professional — Show All Projects; Resource Usage Profile Options, Data tab, Additional Data Options: Show Available Units. Opened Projects Only is Preferences → Resource Analysis → All Projects. No OK / Apply on this how-to page.

EPPM web — the Professional how-to page is the source for this note. Do not invent an EPPM Show Available Units dialog. Do not copy Professional Additional Data Options onto EPPM.

Primavera Cloud is a different product. Do not copy it here.

XER

The how-to is not an XER table. Oracle’s project XER map TOC has no RSRUSAGE / SHOWAVAIL table. Do not invent a view %T. Toggling Show Available Units does not write TASK. Layouts travel as .plf. A Viewer cannot reconstruct that the planner used this how-to.

Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project can show remaining availability on a Resource Graph. Do not map that as P6 Show or hide resource availability. Do not claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.

Don't

  • Invent View > Show or hide resource availability, OK, Apply, Save, or Yes.
  • Collapse this onto Show or hide resource limits, overallocation, Regular Histogram define, or the Resource Usage Profile object.
  • Invent a Units-only rule on this page (this how-to does not print one).
  • Pick Resource Usage Profile Options vs Resource Usage/Role Profile Options as the only printed dialog name (Oracle uses both on this page).
  • Copy Professional Additional Data Options onto EPPM.
  • Invent a SHOWAVAIL XER table, or reconstruct the how-to from RSRC max units.
  • Map MSP Resource Graph remaining availability as this how-to.
  • Claim MPXJ writes a real MPP.
